yeah I want that list .
I don't want to buy it, can you scan the pages and email it to me?Yeah, it's in the MSAR.
Can't do that - would be inappropriate. Does your school not have a copy you can borrow or look at?
not only inappropriate, but probably illegal to reproduce AAMC material without their consent
Go to http://www.medschoolready.com. I think they get their data from the MSAR.
That data is a year old, plus it makes the assumption that you can add up median MCAT scores to get a cumulative median, which is definitely incorrect.

Can you explain what you mean by that? An example would be good because I have heard somthing like that before but don't really understand what you mean.
I just looked it up on US News. From what I saw, there are only 6 Allopathic schools with a GPA equal to or less than 3.50.

You know, I bought the MSAR thinking it would be the "bible" of med schools..but I was kinda dissappointed with it. It didn't really provide breakdowns like I would have liked...I mean averages are nice, but I want standard deviations and ranges for that school...but it still helped.
according to medical school ready.com, Crieghton has a median GPA of 3.79....seems a little high, considering crieghton is not top tier or high mid tier. Compared to the schools around that GPA is doesn't have any awards or rankings.
Under 3.5 is really low for an allopathic US medical school. The only schools around there are most likely:
Morehouse
Howard
Meharry
Ponce (Puerto Rico)
If the picture in your avatar is you, good luck getting into these schools.
Here are the osteopathic and allopathic schools that the US News(for those who don't know US news doesn't list all the med schools) has listed with an average GPA under 3.5:
Pikeville Coll. School of Osteopathic Medicine
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine
West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine
Howard University
Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine
Nova Southeastern U. Col. of Osteopathic Medicine
U. of New England Col. Of Osteopathic Medicine
Touro Univ. College of Osteopathic Medicine
A.T. Still University of Health Sciences (Kirksville)
Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine (Midwestern University)
Col. of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (Western University)
Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science
Tulane University
I disagree with that statement.Take home message: if your GPA is lower than 3.5, you should consider osteopathy.
pop quiz:
name all of the schools in the "top tier"
name all of the schools in the "high mid tier"
thanks!

I'm talking top 50 school as ranked by US News....additionally, Crieghton is not top ten in any particular academic/clinical category (research, primary care, HiV, etc), so 3.79 is a bit high.
Btw, no hate, but,
Morehouse-Historically black
Howard-Historically black
Meharry-Historically black
Ponce (Puerto Rico)
Am I seeing a pattern? of low stats and being historically black? And does anyone notice how there are few if any white people on their school websites? and even rarely any asians.

Nope. Take home message: if your GPA is lower than 3.5, and you are a white guy you should consider osteopathy.
