I spent some of my free time going over the list of MSTP institutions (Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) Institutions - National Institute of General Medical Sciences) and making a list of what PhD programs each one offers. If my username didn't make it obvious, I'm interested in the application of engineering to medicine, so I wanted to see how many programs would let me do something in an applied field like Biomedical Engineering or Electrical Engineering rather than requiring research in more traditional biomedical science fields. Here's what I came up with, I hope others find it useful.

Keep in mind that this will probably change over time, your mileage may vary, etc, etc, etc. I tried my best to make it accurate, but not all program websites were exactly clear, so make sure to confirm with the program rather than blindly taking my word for it. However, I hope it is a good resource for you!

Nice post, I'm sure it'll be very useful to future applicants. Just wanted to give a comment on Hopkins that while the programs listed in the post (along with public health) are the only programs I have ever known anyone to do technically all phd programs are open to mstp students.

Thanks, I must have been reading through that page too quickly and didn't catch that. Edited the OP!
