Hey everyone.
I know some people are going to get irritated about this question but I have had a hard time finding the answer.

Could someone please list for me the different post bacc programs that have a direct admission into their medical school?
I am specifically looking for 1 yr programs that I could take once i graduate.
I will have taken anatomy, histology, virology, micro, and genetics upon my undergrad graduation.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You are right it does it irritate people when they have others ask them to do their own work for them.

Get on the internet and research the programs yourself. They are also in the MSAR.

As far as I know, you don't usually qualify for post-bac if you are a bio major that have finished your pre-reqs at your undergraduate institution. You can take an informal or non-traditional post bac program at diff. institutions but there are no admission guarantee.
You might want to try smp program instead that has high linkage to their med school, like EVMS and NYMC.

Wow, we are all a supportive bunch aren't we? I'm going to try to do a little better here. Regarding the question of direct linkage programs, check out this site http://services.aamc.org/postbac/ Basically, you are desiring programs that have been around for awhile and have a record. Schools like Columbia, Goucher, Bryn Mawr, Scripps-there are a few others, but check it out. Temple University has a new program-a direct linkage at a great school.

I'm sorry that you had some negative feedback-but it is common on this board-unfortunate.

If you have only taken the science classes you listed, you are fine for a post-bac. Most ask only that you have taken no more than 2 of the pre-reqs for medical school. The classes you listed are not pre-reqs for medical school, with the exception of genetics-and that is only at some schools.

Do not be swayed by the uncorrect information you see on this board often. Check out everything! Go after your dream, and forget the nay sayers!

I find it interesting that you took histoloy, anatomy, genetics, etc. and you somehow didn't take general chemistry or biology. I would think you would have accidentally just tripped into organic chemistry and biochemistry too. Weird.

Agreed. I think the OP was implying that Gen Chem and Bio had been taken and, if that's the case, he/she is indeed ineligible for a formal postbac.

I think we need further clarification before we can be of any help.

It's not that everyone in this board is negative but the op is not providing enough information about him/herself in the post. What is your current science GPA or your overall GPA.

Since you are a biology major, I'm assuming you have taken all the pre-reqs for medical school correct ?? Especially you will be done with anatomy and genetics.

This disqualify you from the normal post-baccalaureate program that are aimed for career changers or non-biology major. You have 2 options, apply to an informal post-bac program that will raise your GPA or pursue a Special Master Program. But without more Stats, the sdn community can't really help you.

If you are a disadvantage student, I would recommend applying to special post-bac program aimed for that particular group. University of California Post-baccalaureate Consortium is one among many available, depending on your region.

I wasn't being negative but people should do their own homework.

If people wanna know whether A is bettar than B than we can discuss. Or the pros/cons of a particular program.

but im not doing all the homework for the OP.

esp when they dont appear to realize that based on the current info, they cant do a post-bacc, unless its something like the UPenn Special Sciences.
