you should just practice and take tests in addition to reading on a daily basis
 
They really love art: The shift, or clash, between the Impressionists and neo-Impressionists; art and politics; and other crap like that.

Also, brush up on fossils, rocks, and historical weather patterns.

Really, it's basically anything. EK 101 passages is great for practice because their passages are extremely interesting, and it helps to become exposed anything from Sontag to prostitutes.
 
its ridiculous for premed students to be asked about philosophical/historical/random topics...as doctors we are going to be synthesizing, understanding, and communication mainly natural science/anatomy/medicine...right?

It tests your critical thinking skills and your ability to draw out important details and make inferences from a lot of information. You have to do this as a doctor when you are presented with a patient's history, his symptoms, his lab work, etc. A med school adcom told me that VR is the most important section because it best tests your problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

I think eventually all the sections will turn into a VR one (PS and BS). Except, strike that, they're redoing the test.

Though, no doctor is going to have think why Cezanne defied the Impressionist movement with his less subjective strokes of the brush.
