GPA: 3.55
Science GPA: 3.5

MCAT: 20O (Yes. A 200. 155 more than the max. 😀)

The MCAT is why Im considering carribean. I dont mind at all, as long as I can eventually come back to US for at least primary care (id prefer not to be limited in any other specialty)

Retake the MCAT. Your GPA and EC's are competitive for US MD and DO schools. If you can score upper 20's, you can probably get in some place. Carib should be a last resort. Look at the NRMP data. Only ~50% USIMG's match. There's no reason to handicap yourself if you don't need to.

As for your actual question, the 20 is on the low side for the Big 4. Maybe a shot for the less competitive semesters (Jan/May).

I'm only gonna try for AUC and Ross.

I'm also trying for a few schools in the US too. I looked up a few charts. Roughly 10 people get into US MD schools each year with 3.5 & 20 MCAT. Worth a shot.

You should definitely retake the MCAT. Definitely retake before bailing for the Caribbean. You should be able to get a better score than that, with your GPA and extracurriculars. The Caribbean is a last resort. In my opinion, DO will give you more options. However, if 20 is the best you can do on the MCAT you may have a big problem with the USMLE exams. I think you CAN do better. Get a tutor. Take Princeton Review and/or Kaplan. Figure out what the problem was with your MCAT. You need to fix it. The pace of med school work is much more rapid. If you are really ready for med school, you should be able to manage >20 on the MCAT. Also, you are selling yourself short if you don't take at least one more crack at the MCAT. Did you study the first time?

No, I didnt really study that much. I just skimmed some books. My own fault.

Ya I probably should study seriously this time and retake, I'm just kinda bummed that its too late for 2011 so the earliest I could get in 2012. I'm 25 right now so Im just trying to get done asap.
