I am currently a prospective OT student applying for Loma Linda University:xf:. I have been working on the application for a month now and i am extremely stressed out and was wondering if anyone knew how they do their application process...as far as how they go over the applications...for example, do they read and consider applications as each application is turned in OR do they wait till the priority deadline approaches and read them all around the same time?

not sure if that makes sense, but basically does it look better/are my chances higher of them truly considering my application if i turn it in for example today, versus 2 weeks from today?

+ are there any PROSPECTIVE OT students on here for summer 2012??

Prospective summer 2012 student right here! Just submitted my application at 11:15 am!

oh my goodness! hello i turned in my app on sept 14 it took me forever! the essays were really getting to me! what's your gpa? i don't know how well my chances are :/ im reallly scared!!

don't worry my gpa totally sucks. it's about 2.91 but i applied anyways. they don't require gre's but i did well so i submitted mine. i have relevant work and volunteer hours as well. Good luck!

ah mines about 3.18 not high at all either :/ i have 57 hours done and i want to do more but there arent many places that allow observation hours around my area. do you have a bachelors or AA or anything already?

I have a BA in Sociology with a minor in Spanish. I have 95 OT hours and about 550 additional volunteer hours not directly in an OT department or with OTs.

Oh wow! that's great stuff you've got ! i'm sure you've got a really good shot.

You forgot my GPA, that kind of hurts me, but I hope I still manage to get in! Thanks for the encouragement! Do you have an undergrad degree as well?

Prospective 2012 student here! Has anyone heard anything yet? My interviewer said they should be sending out acceptances by the second or third week of January, but of course I'm still anxious! 🙂

I applied to LLU in august and interviewed there in November. I was notified in December that I was an alternate and was told all the spots had been offered to other students already...are they still interviewing?

Mgcookie, I'm not sure if they're still interviewing or not, I applied in September and interviewed in December and still haven't heard anything, my interviewer told me they'd be meeting either before winter break or after. When did you hear back from them?

OTdreams, I got an email about 3 weeks after my interview saying I was an alternate, and then letter in the mail about a month after my interview saying all spots had been offered. When I contacted them they also said there is no order for alternates on the waitlist, and if a spot became available they would reevaluate the alternates for that spot.

Oh okay! Well that's good to hear that they will reevaluate alternates, I'm sure there will be some people that will end up dropping out or choosing another school. Did you have in all your prerequisites and transcripts? I have one more transcript I'm waiting for them to receive so I'm hoping that's not the reason I haven't heard anything yet.

I had all my prerequisites done, but they made a decision before I was able to send my fall grades in. Good luck though!

LLU placed me on the alternate list 🙁 but I guess I won't wait around for it. Just got accepted to Nova Southeastern University in Southern Florida for Class of 2014 and I'm going there most likely :soexcited:!!!!!! Good luck to everyone else applying to an OT school!
