If you want to get a job after graduation (probably as a general associate) in new jersey, would it be best choice to go to UMDNJ if you can?

Or would that not matter at all and u have an equal good chance of getting a job in nj whether u go to Penn or Columbia or Tufts?

Also, the same question for specialist
are you likely to have more chance of getting a job in the state where you do your residency?

Also, if you go to a particular dental school, would you have a better shot at specialty places at that particular dental school (say UMDNJ for UMDNJ and Columbia for Columbia)?

1. If you want to be a general associate, it shouldn't matter at all where you go to school.

2. If you want to specialize, you may be able to find some connections within your program (for example, maybe one of your attendings is looking for a new partner or associate), but you can still go anywhere and do fine.

3. Yes, many programs (but not all, and it varies with specialty) will reserve some seats for graduates of their own school. You can research this by talking to current residents or dental students at the programs you are interested in.
