I posted this question regarding when I should take Step 3 in the Step 3 forum but no replies yet, thought I would try here. Basically I had difficulties with Step 1 and 2CK (Passed both on 2nd attempt). I want to optimize my Step 3 (for possible fellowship and such), and have some time before intern year since I already graduated in June 2012. My fear is that I have been out of clinicals for a year so I dont have recent experience managing patients and writing orders and stuff....I will be starting IM in June.
Do you think I should just study for it now and take it before intern year, or should I wait until I have a few months of wards experience under my belt and take it as a busy intern? (my program requires it to be passed by the end of internship)
