Hi,
I'm wondering if any of you are currently on the waiting list at Loma Linda. Also, is it good to be on their waitlist? What are your chances of getting in if you're on their waitlist/alternate list?

I heard only 3 people on the wait list were admitted last year, but I don't know if that's true. I suggest calling LLU and asking what your chances are of getting in.

Im on the alternate list too..but according to Rick.. he said a lot of people got off the alternate last yr...cuz they reject ppl too after interviews.. not like everyone who interviewed goes on the alt list..( i dunno how accurate that is) n they dont really interview too many ppl..so im guessing the waitlist is not as long as some of the other schools..welll i can be delusional n just tryin to make myself feel better.. plse post any info.. if anyone hears anything🙂

Thanks guys! I guess i'm just gonna wait and hope the good news will come soon. I was thinking about the same thing that ilovedimsum said. So let's hope there is a high chance of getting in this year. =)

I know someone already got in from the waiting list.....🙄 Rick told me during the interview that typically, 75-80% of all interviewees get in so hold on right you guys!

i remember being told on my interview (12/08/06) that about 90% of those who interviewed end up getting accepted 🙂

Hi SpacyFarmacy.. I finally got pulled off the alternate list! I got my acceptance last thursday!! Im sooo excited!!😍 I know 2 other people who got pulled off a few wks ago as well.. hang in there!!I know the wait is horrible.. just be patient...I hope you hear good news soon!!

I hope i'll get accepted too =) Anyway, when was your interview? I wonder if they pull people based on their GPA or the date they got interviews with the school. One of their advisors came to our schools this fall and she kind of disappointed me!!! She told me to apply to another school if I can!!!! Because they are not accredited yet!!! BUT she was just a general advisor not specifically for the pharmacy school.

I was accepted from the waiting list a few days ago.

According to the current news on the accreditation web site, Loma Linda still has candidate status. I'm not sure when the accreditation committee will visit LLU.

At my interview they said that the accreditation team will visit LLU by this summer. From my understanding, the curriculum needed to be changed a little to move forward with the process, and that is exactly what LLU is doing. They plan to cut out some med chem from their curricula (there might be other changes that I am not aware of). LLU is very open about the accreditation process, I would recommend you give the school of pharmacy a call if you have more questions.

It's not that I don't believe in what you said. But i find it quite funny to hear that Loma Linda advisor recommend students to apply to other schools instead of theirs just because of their accreditation status. I also got accepted to the school recently. I recall that another advisor at the school said at the interview that it doesn't matter whether they get their accreditation this year or not. Because if you're in their program (even their program is just at the candidate status), you're still able to take the board exam and get your license. So don't be discouraged. I hope this helps 🙂
