I'm currently a pediatric resident finishing my residency and looking to specialize in pediatric anesthesia. I'm looking for a CA-1 anesthesia position preferably on the east coast to start in July 2009- I did not apply through the match this year. If you have any information please send me a message.
Thank you.

1. You should have applied through the match to be able to take advantage of the maximum number of spots available. That said, many programs have alternate start dates or keep a spot or two open for people outside the match.

2. Contact all the programs you're interested in and send a CV and cover letter outlining your interests. You may also have to apply to programs not on the East Coast.

3. Reapply through the match for a 2010 spot.

This kind of things has been discussed many times in the past. Good luck.

You should apply to Hopkins. We commonly have peds residents who go back to do PICU/Peds anesthesia. Great program. There are four in my class.
