My non-science LOR writer is teaching in China until December, because of this she said that she does not have access to our school letter head so I just had her submit the letter without it. I know some schools say they require it, but is there ever an exception? They can email her on her official, posted, university email for verification that she wrote the letter. Just trying to decide if it is a big enough deal that I should look for a new letter writer....

Usually non-science LORs are not required, if that is the case then there usually is no problem not having the letter head (people who had the same problem mentioned this in the past). However, you should try to get as many letter writers as you can just in case it is a problem.

I would assume there is, I do not have access to it. She said she did not have her regular availability to the school files while in China.

I'd get a back-up letter now, just in case. That way you won't be held up if the original letter isn't accepted.
