1) 3 vs 4 letters if the website does not specify?
2) I have one PD and one clinical LOR in the specialty I am applying to. Assuming both letters are of similar quality, should my third letter be from a research PI who i did volunteer research with through residency vs another clinical LOR from an attending in my specialty.

thank you

1. If the website doesn't specify, then upload what you have.
2. PD letter is needed. A clinical LOR from your specialty is needed. For the third letter, if the PI researcher says different things about you and speaks to different aspects of your character/training than what's included in the other two letters that would be preferred. The second clinical LOR is likely to say much the same stuff as the first clinical LOR.
