Quick question for anyone and everyone about letters of recommendations. Many MSTP programs require additional letters of rec from research mentors. Is it frowned upon to have a research mentor write a letter of rec for the MD application and for the MSTP application? For example, Albert Einstein requires 2 MD letters of rec and 2 additional letters of rec from research mentors, so how much overlap is acceptable? Would appreciate any advice, thanks!

My impression is that it can be from the same advisor, with two letters on two different topics. One speaking to your critical reasoning capabilities, and the other to your suitedness of the medical field.

Call/email them specifically to find out though.
