I have recieved several LORs from attendings for my upcoming residency application. I have read them all (I never waive my right to see them) and am trying to figure out which ones are stronger. I.e. longer or shorter, from attendings in the specialty you are applying for or not? Please don't reply to this post if you are an incoming med student or have not gone through the match process. Any residents that have sorted through applications, your thoughts are appreciated!

Length is not terribly important. What counts is that the person writing has intimate knowledge of who you are and the type of work you can produce. Obviously, letters from your chosen field of endeavor will mean more, but I don't think it's the dealbreaker.

Good luck.
