Hey there guys :hello:

I will be applying for 2018 cycle (summer of 2017) and I had a few questions regarding my recommendation letters. I already tried using the search feature of the site, but I couldn't find the answers I was looking for:

1. Currently, I'm planning on asking LoRs from (a). the human physiology instructor (b). the medical microbiology instructor and (c). the dentist I shadowed for 100-hr. However, I also have 300-hour of volunteer internship at the Regional Hospital (Ontario, Canada). I was volunteering at the OR help desk, basically, I had to keep in touch with nurses and surgeons and keep the family updated about what's going on. I've read that most schools (esp Canadian schools) will only read 3 of your LoRs (i.e., admissions faculty is only required to read three letter). So should I ask a LoR from my supervisor at the hospital too? (she genuinely loved my work ethics when I was there).

2. I've received A+ in both physiology and microbiology, and instructors know my personality very well since I was at my microbiology instructor's office every week discussing course material and my physiology instructor is also my academic advisor. However, I don't want the instructors to just focus on my academic performance in their class since that admissions committee can conclude that from my transcript. As you know admissions officers are looking for specific characteristics in recommendation letters. Is there any letter of recommendation template, anything that I can give to my instructors so that they can write a more competitive LoR? (basically, help them to help me).

Thank you!! :biglove:

1. You can only upload a certain number of LORs on the AADSAS application, usually schools have specific requirements about LORs so I recommend keeping the 3 you have because it satisfies most schools requirements.
2. You can always forward your CV to the person writing your LOR so they have a more wholesome viewpoint on what to write about you.
