My currently GPA is 3.1, sGPA 2.6. Taking post-bacc courses at a university right now while applying OOS and Texas schools. The past few years have been a financial mess and have had lots of family problems as well, to where I couldn't afford to even consider a graduate program. I spent the time working at dental offices.

I applied twice in-state, and this is my third (and last chance). I have applied to 15 OOS schools so far. Retaking my DAT soon because the admissions told me I need to bring the 18AA up. I genuinely feel so broken right now.

There is a Masters I can start Spring 2020, but may not finish it in time for dental school start. Or, have to wait another year to start a full-one year masters. If anyone can provide any advice on this situation, that would be extremely helpful.

What has your GPA trend been in post bac? Is there a significant upward trend? Even with an upward you probably need to bring that sGPA up to at least 3.00.

It goes without saying that you need to improve your DAT score. With your low GPA, you probably need AA of 21 or higher and even scores (20+) across the board.

I also did a post bac under difficult circumstances. My sGPA was on the lower side though my DAT was decent. They will take into account your family situation, etc. but you need to get your scores up to get your foot in the door.

Good luck.

I've taken pre-req courses and they've been A/B after graduation. Just started my post-bacc this Fall, so we'll see how it goes. My professors are all great so I have faith that things will fare will. There is an upward trend but not as significant because I need about 20+ more hours of upper level sciences to bring it up according to the advisors.
