Low DAT Scores HELP!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If you have not already e-submitted your applications, I would say wait. But your sGPA is competitive enough to go along side your DAT scores. Your PAT score is good enough, and none of your sections are below a 17. I would say apply this cycle and research the schools that accept GPA/DAT score ranges like yours. But if you want to only get into those two schools in NY, then go for it. Its only two schools, won't be as expensive as applying for 15 like myself. lol. GOOD LUCK. if not this year, study and retake it again next year. But as for now, I wouldn't retake it for this cycle and have admissions hold your app until your scores come in because spots will fill up quick with other students with similar scores to yours.

Best of luck with it all.

I think you def have a chance of getting in somewhere, why are you so set on those 2 schools, besides in-state tuition?

Thanks for the advice. Honestly, in-state tuition is the primary reason. I'm sorry I didn't make myself clear, those are the two schools that are my tops... I have applied to 8 others like NYU, Creighton, New Jersey, Howard, Tufts, BU, Temple, and Maryland. So yes, I am paying a good amount of money too! lol

If i am retaking the test it would be primarily to get into Stony or Buffalo tho...

Your score is above national average and you have a good GPA....please apply...you don't want to wait a year. I promise you . No matter where you go...you will Dr. ____. So apply this cycle and get your dental grind on.

I think you should go ahead and apply while it is still early. You can schedule another test date, if you want, and your application will reflect that you are going to retake. Personally, I would not consider your scores LOW.

19 is not a low score. There is just an inflation of DAT scores on SDN.
