I took my DAT today, for the second time, scored: PAT 19/ BIO 19/ GC 17/ OC 13/ RC 19/ QR 14/ AA 16, GPA 3.15. I’m military active duty, dental assistant, I have a lot of volunteering, which include assisting Every other weekend on a clinic off base, for low income population. I have some awards through the military. I achieved the Eagle Scout rank. Also, I’m minority. Any chances to get into a Dental School?, I’m very frustrated.

Def going to have to retake your dat

You're gonna need at least a 19 or 20AA. Seems like you struggle the most with chemistry.. I recommend using Chad's videos to get a good baseline understanding

I would recommend Dr. Mike's videos from bootcamp. He is the best chemistry teacher in my opinion and his videos were extremely clear. He also gives lots of mnemonics for concepts that seem to always appear on the DAT.

Also, set up a “real exam scenario ” practice test before you take the real one. Use all those resources since that work for most of us. Good luck

The DAT is a predictive exam, designed much like the MCAT or LSAT. Predictive exams are supposed to do just that, predict your future success in the chosen school.

Definitely will need to retake.

Any score below 15 is a cutoff for most schools.

You need to be aiming for a TS and AA of at the very least 19. The average is about 20+

I would work on the Chad's Videos and DAT Destroyer like others have mentioned. If you can improve the GC and OC scores and increase the QR, it'll improve your AA by a mile. Give yourself 6-8 weeks to study so you can do well. Don't rush into taking the exam.

When you say minority, applying to howard might work if you're African American. Otherwise, retake DAT and take more classes (postbac/ master's) to raise GPA. Only take the DAT when you've studied and exhausted all the resources recommended on SDN. You can win the nobel peace prize, but if your stats don't look good, they won't take their chances on you because you are an investment to dental schools. They can't afford someone that will flunk out, they don't make money on that.
