Hi guys! I'm new to this, and I was wondering if you guys could help me assess my situation here. So I'm a senior, and I didn't apply this cycle (I'm taking a year off.) I'm planning on applying next summer.
My current science gpa is 2.84. I'm taking two science courses this semester and hoping to get A's, and taking two sciences next semester. I calculated my projected science gpa if I get A-'s in all of the courses, and it comes out to be 2.99. I might add on another science class next semester, but even then my science gpa would be in the low 3.0s. And I also got a 20 on my DAT this summer.
Is there any hope?!!!
Oh and also, if i took classes fall of next year, would that still count towards my gpa?

take more science classes and at least be at a 3.0 IMO your chances would increase.

It also depends on the rest of your DAT scores, not just the AA. I'm in the same boat as you so there is tons to worry about. From what I've heard when talking to family dentists it's not impossible to get an interview with those grades. Definitely use the year off to improve your resume and if possible your academics. Don't let that 1 year go to waste.
