MCAT: 507

cGPA: 3.9
sGPA: ~3.7
2 years anatomy/functional morphology research, 1 paper in review (second author)

very few hours with local food bank due to COVID pandemic
two summers volunteering in OHPC/PACU in different hospitals
Healthcare tech in the medical ICU
graduated from NC State
applying mainly to osteopathic schools

mainly concerned about my MCAT, really don't want to take it again if I can avoid it, but need brutally honest opinions

First, I presume you'll apply to the DO school your sibling graduates from. How much have you been helped by his/her friends or the admissions staff at that school?

Clinical experience: OHPC/PACU/MICU: so are you saying you have no hours right now?
Shadowing: P2 ministries -- be specific... what were you doing? "traveling the US" isn't going to impress me.

wasn’t sure how specific to be in these posts, thought a general description would suffice. Between the OHPC and PACU I volunteered around 120 hours total, and I’ve been an employee in the MICU since the beginning of July 2019. With P2, I travel to an underserved/impoverished areas in various states (have traveled to 10 so far) and build houses, wheelchair ramps, boys and girls clubs, hold community food drives and clothing drives and help support and promote local ministries (just to name a few tasks). I have not yet been in contact with anyone who works at the school my sibling went to; however, he is planning on setting up a meeting and tour with someone on the admissions staff when the circumstances allow.
