WARNING: This post is long!
Hey guys! This is my second post in this forum after many months of browsing for pharmacy related stuff. So lets get to the point. I just took the PCAT today. (lol! I'm so impatient) I didn't do so well. I expected it though since I got around that score when I took the Pearson practice exams. I studied on and off for about a month and a half from mostly Dr. Collins and the Pearson practice exams. So here's my score:
Bio: 63
Chem: 61
CR: 12 (so bad! English is my second language, so there's my excuse 😉)
Quant: 77
Composite: 49
I was so happy when Pearson took out the Verbal section, but the bio and chem passages weren't easy either.
My GPA is 3.3cum
I only retook a Psych class that I got a C in the first time, but I earned an A the second time. So my PharmCAS GPA shouldn't change at all?
I will be a senior this fall 2016 and I'm planning to start my application in September, but after seeing my PCAT score I probably have to retake it in September. I feel like I won't improve a lot though. Maybe somewhere in the 60s at best.
I have a CPhT, but haven't found a job. ( I applied online to some places, but I'm thinking I should apply in person instead to increase my chances)
I shadowed/volunteered at two retail pharmacies for a couple months.
I'm not really involved in my school, except I'm in some clubs.
My previous jobs? I worked at several nail salons from high school until now..I recently quit.
I have no idea what to do now. I was thinking about applying to some schools in my state (VA) Appalachia, VCU, Shenandoah and also some schools that don't require the PCAT, while waiting to take the PCAT again.
