WARNING: This post is long!

Hey guys! This is my second post in this forum after many months of browsing for pharmacy related stuff. So lets get to the point. I just took the PCAT today. (lol! I'm so impatient) I didn't do so well. I expected it though since I got around that score when I took the Pearson practice exams. I studied on and off for about a month and a half from mostly Dr. Collins and the Pearson practice exams. So here's my score:
Bio: 63
Chem: 61
CR: 12 (so bad! English is my second language, so there's my excuse 😉)
Quant: 77
Composite: 49

I was so happy when Pearson took out the Verbal section, but the bio and chem passages weren't easy either.

My GPA is 3.3cum
I only retook a Psych class that I got a C in the first time, but I earned an A the second time. So my PharmCAS GPA shouldn't change at all?
I will be a senior this fall 2016 and I'm planning to start my application in September, but after seeing my PCAT score I probably have to retake it in September. I feel like I won't improve a lot though. Maybe somewhere in the 60s at best.

I have a CPhT, but haven't found a job. ( I applied online to some places, but I'm thinking I should apply in person instead to increase my chances)
I shadowed/volunteered at two retail pharmacies for a couple months.
I'm not really involved in my school, except I'm in some clubs.
My previous jobs? I worked at several nail salons from high school until now..I recently quit.

I have no idea what to do now. I was thinking about applying to some schools in my state (VA) Appalachia, VCU, Shenandoah and also some schools that don't require the PCAT, while waiting to take the PCAT again.

I think it all depends on the schools you apply to. The schools you listed I am not familiar with, but it should list avg entering gpa and pcat from last years class. I think you have a good shot as long as it is around the avg. I mean obviously if you are higher than the avg even better! If you are right at the avg or just a tad below I'd say you have a nice shot. I mean if you are right below the avg than last years class had to have some people accepted with even lower stats otherwise the avg would be even higher than what it is.

Btw don't feel bummed out about the CR. It seems like majority of the people mess up here even people that have English as their first language and I've even seen stats where people practically have gotten 90s in everything, but CR. I take the PCAT 2mrw... I'm dreading it lol, especially the CR.. This is just my personal opinion, but I hate CR because I feel like some of the questions are opinionated....

Thank you for your input. I'm actually not that upset. I felt happy when I finished with the test because it was sucking my energy for 3 hours (literally) LOL. Good luck on your PCAT tomorrow!
