My post may just sound like whining, but I really need your advice....
It would mean a world to me.

I graduated in architecture at a good liberal arts school with cumulative 3.17.
My sGPA is around 2.5 (ouch.). I took 1st semester chem, bio, and physics.

I was a total mess in college, but I now have a strong reason to become a doctor.
I have no clinic/research experience, however.
I know I can do it, but circumstances(family, financial situation, etc.) are really bringing me down...

Would I be able to get into a Postbac Premed, hopefully one in NYC or Boston (those are the only living options) area? I know Columbia PostBac's GPA req is only 3.0, but I have read that you need avg 3.6 GPA to actually get into the program. Should I even consider Postbac Program?

Thank you very much in advance. It really means a lot.

First step: go get some clinical experience. You don't have credibility until you've spent a lot of time seeing what docs and nurses and patients do, up close. Around here people say "go smell some patients."

You can't get into a premed program, not one with any structure or reputation, without clinical experience.

Please don't try to do more coursework until you are free from those constraints. You have to get a long, consistent string of A's in difficult coursework in order to get into med school from where you are now. Getting B's is getting nowhere. Getting C's is going backwards.

No, you can't get into a formal program. You should be looking at informal or extension programs where you can take the prereqs and upper div science. Harvard Extension is one.

Best of luck to you.
