Wooo First Post! (Okay, fine, I will finally stop lurking on this website.)

I knew my overall GPA was pretty low, but I didn't realize until today what my science GPA was. Please feel free to offer any advice.

According to AACOMAS:
cGPA: 3.17
sGPA: 2.70
non-sGPA: 3.60

My major was Biochemistry (minor in Music), with no initial plans to go to med school. I have presented my organic chemistry research at national conferences. I have a few grades in the sciences that are in the D to C+ range. However, that was a few years ago...

Since graduation, I have been volunteering in both clinically and kids' science-related activities. Clinical hours ~ 100+. I have shadowed both MDs and DOs, even have a LOR from a DO. Also, I worked for over a year before taking time off to study for the MCAT. My exam date is on May 18th. *crosses fingers for >27*

I was planning on applying this summer (super early and broad), but now I am concerned that I do not meet the cut.

I am wanting to only apply to DO schools. Again, any help is appreciated. 😍

The sGPA will get you autorejected from a number of schools, including mine. You MUST retake any F/D/C science coursework to get the sGPA >3.0 to be competetive.

get the sgpa > 3.0, and MCAT 27+ and you should be set.
