Hi! I graduated from Uconn in May 2016. My cum GPA was a 3.04 and science was around a 2.6... I have currently been in a biomedical masters full time the last year taking only upper level sciences and I have about 20 credits now (1 more year to complete at 38 credits). My grad GPA is 3.85 and I also have been working full time as a junior embryologist at a reproductive medicine practice while doing this, which takes a substantial amount of manual dexterity and I'm always dealing with patients. I took my DAT for the first time on May 29th and scored a 21TS 21AA and 20PAT. I just finished applying to all my schools yesterday June 18. Also have about 150 hours shadowing. Do you guys think I potentially have made up for my poor undergrad GPA? I applied to 14 schools: Uconn, Rutgers, Ohio state, nova, BU, temple, NYU, VCU, ECU, UNE, Tufts, UMD, Stony Brook, University South Carolina. Any idea where my best and worst chances are in regards to schools? And when should I expect to hear back? So anxious, any help is appreciated!!!
Thanks for the advice, but no there is actually a school university of south carolina! http://dental-schools.startclass.com/l/52/MUSC-James-B-Edwards-College-of-Dental-MedicineI'd say take out ECU and UNC (you said "South Carolina" but I think you mean "North Carolina"..?). Relatively OOS-unfriendly.

Already paid and sent the apps, much appreciated though wish I posted here before I did that -_-True, but just to clarify the one in South Carolina is MUSC and the one in North Carolina is UNC. Anyways, the point is both of these schools are OOS-unfriendly. I'd say take out Ohio State as well...
You think I'm competitive for at least some schools though? I just have low confidence because everyone told me after undergrad I had no shot and to give it up which is partly why I worked so hard to prove everyone wrong, I'm just kind of lacking the self esteem now and feel like I will be rejected from everywhere.Already paid and sent the apps, much appreciated though wish I posted here before I did that -_-
Thank you so much, literally put a smile on my face with the last part! 🙂You're in good shape for those private schools (NOVA, BU, NYU, Tufts etc). I would remove OSU and both Carolina schools. If you're looking to add some schools, Detroit Mercy, MWU-IL/AZ, Roseman and some others are worth checking out (while taking into consideration their respective price tags).
Side note: Going from a 3.0 to a 3.85 while working full time is no small feat. Your DAT score is also good, it's at or above the average for many schools. As for all those people telling you that you had no shot, please CC them in your acceptance email. Good luck!
any other opinions?
haha love the "thanks susan"...are you in dental school, and if so where?I came out of UConn undergrad with slightly better stats, ended up doing a masters and did quite well like yourself. I like your chances.
