Let's get ready to rumble...
Okay...so the 15th is fast approaching and with that comes the formation of the waitlist. How much do you know about the waitlist?
Word is...
As they receive notices from people withdrawing acceptances, they have an idea of how large the waitlist will be. There are around 30 people on the admissions committee (32, if I remember correctly). They'll split up into four advocacy groups. If there 120 No Action (NA) peeps, each group will review 40 folks. Upon review, each group will advocate for a specific number of people based on the number of open slots. So...if there are 60 spots open...each group will choose 15 applicants to advocate for...before the entire committee. These people will receive acceptance letters.
The remaining will be ranked for the waitlist. I don't remember how the waitlist size is determined.
Rejections. Unfortunately, applicants that rank low and who are unlikely to matriculate based on prospective waitlist movement will receive rejection letters.
I think I'm missing something...but I'm sure someone can add to what I've posted or shoot an update.
Keep the Faith, Everyone!
