why tell them what they dont need to know?Ok I skimmed this thread and here is what I am wondering:
Although my beliefs do not directly align with this school I do not think it would be an impossible environment for me, I will just put those dance lessons on hold...
the main thing that concerns me is living with a significant other, I am getting my parents to warm up to the idea and now I have a school administration to worry about? Can anyone confirm that you 100% cannot live with a non-spouse significant other?

"The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is proud to be distributing this year the greatest amount of free Meals and Food Stamps ever, to 47 million people as of the most recent figures available in 2013.
Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us "Please Do Not Feed the Animals."
Their stated reason for the policy is because "The animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves.""

If you knew anything about poverty, unemployment, foraging, victory gardening, wild animals and poaching, you would not have made that asinine comparison.

Agreedmaybe forestry should be a premed requirement now...
Comparing people to wild animals is classy. If you knew anything about poverty, unemployment, foraging, victory gardening, wild animals and poaching, you would not have made that asinine comparison.

hahahahahah oops, that quote wasn't supposed to go here. wrong forum!
Taken out of context so no. Don't assume. That really makes things worse

The funny thing is that these kinds of places that dont allow premarital sex tend to have higher rates of STDs, and more anal and oral sex than the outside population. To paraphrase Bill Maher: people always find loopholes to rules. In this case, two to be exact
Linda Loma has one of the most respected hospitals in all of California attached to it and does more research than all the DO schools combined. You cannot compare two schools like this.
Linda Loma also doesn't have a directly attached agenda of political supremacy and is not a quazi for profit online school created by a man who likely is burning in the hell he wished to condemn so many others to.
So the latest school to get accreditation- William Carey, about 1/3 of the class failed step 1, about 1/3 of the class failed to match initially and had to scramble, and about 70% of the class is doing primary care, mostly AOA family medicine in the middle of nowhere. Inagural class size was 100, at the end of 4 years -86 graduated and matched. Some schools just have no business trying to open a medical school. I predict similar numbers for LUCOM.

look at the WCU 2013-2014 app thread in school specific discussion, all the info is thereLink plz
110 started there in 2010, so only 78% graduated in 4 years. So the latest school to get accreditation- William Carey, about 1/3 of the class failed step 1, about 1/3 of the class failed to match initially and had to scramble, and about 70% of the class is doing primary care, mostly AOA family medicine in the middle of nowhere. LMU's first class was similar, only about 75% graduated in 4 years.
That's disturbing, the fact that both schools are not on probation is absurd.
This is why we need LCME.
I tend to agree. At the least they should have been forced to decrease class size in LMUs case.
But everyone likes LMU
There are some 'hype' in SDN about LMU, but it is not a bad school. But everyone likes LMU

What do you mean by saying 'you have to get motivated to get through'? Are the profs not good? I have heard about their clinical sites problem... I think they admit too many students.Yep. It's not a bad school but you have to be very motivated to get through and clinical sites are.....well I just want to know where my 3rd/4th year money went....

Well, no matter the bickering btw us all, Liberty sure had no problem filling up those seats.
Honestly, I'm going to make my own DO school. Think COCA will approve me?

Honestly, if the graduates of DO schools want it, they can change osteopathic medicine from the inside out.
So.. what are your rotations like?
I don't get why the AOA can't just issue a statement denouncing the opening of new schools. Even though it would not legally force COCA into anything, their voice would matter.COCA is destroying the DO degree and consequently might regress the medical profession in general... Have they seen what has happened to law school and what is happening right now to pharmacy school? What can possibly happen when you let a school open with 150+ students in their inaugural class? Are these people (COCA members) in it for some kind of personal gain?
Jeez, that sounds kinda awful tbh.
I mean, one of the reasons I dropped schools on my list from last year was really purely because I believed that they made 3rd and 4th year excruciating. And honestly, driving 2 hours daily just to borderline shadow a primary care physician sounds absurd and borderline Gevitzian.
Did you at least match and do well on the boards?
Lol if I didn't match I wouldn't be on sdn being so open because I would need them next cycle. My board scores are fine(studying to take level 3 in less than a week before intern year starts), I matched at my #1 which is a very good program.
I would say 4th year I was very angry as well as bitter at my school but time heals all wounds but I am still a little bitter and hope that students get both sides of the coin about lmu.
I do feel like a hypocritical person though because there was a poster who had very valid complaints about lmu that was a 4th year when I started and I was a bit of a jerk to him. Fortunately I'm a big enough person to admit he was right .
Did everyone match from your class?
