On pathoma it seems as if multiple "cannon-ball" nodules on imaging are most commonly from breast and colon carcinoma.

From school and also from http://radiopaedia.org/articles/cannonball-metastases-1 it seems as if those cannon ball lesions are mainly from renal cell carcinoma.

Which is right? Also, what are the most common cancers that metastasize to the lung, is it breast, colon or kidney?

Thanks

They all spread hematogenously.
But Breast and Colon Ca are much more common than RCC.
So both are right.

yes like @Transposony said.

case for each will give you some indication what to think about.

smoker ---> RCC. mostly with paraneoplastic case!

50+ with anemia / new murmur of A.S (S. bovis)--> colon Ca

F with emphasis on obese/nulligravida/ inc estrogen exposure/ African American
