Hi! I am an M1 from CA currently going to an East Coast school and was wondering how important it is to do research in your home state (where I would ideally like to match). Currently, my plans for the summer are to travel/relax with family, keep up with my Anki reviews, and do research with the faculty at my school. I am interested in ENT and have been involved on several projects since nearly the beginning of M1 with the faculty at my school but do not have any plans set in place for anything with people back in CA. So I guess my question is, if I do not do any research with people in CA will that greatly negatively impact my chances in the future, or will putting my effort in building stronger relationships with the faculty at my school serve me better?
