As for books for NSUCOM, here is what I reccommend you getting:
1. Definitely get the pulmonary book by Wiesneberger (????). This book is a solid and easy to read book on pulmonology.
2. As for cardiology, get the Lily's Pathophysiology to Cardiology. This book pretty much made me understand a lot of things that the clinicians were talking about. At other medical schools, it was highly reccommended.
3. As for general review, get First Aid and Step Up. Those two books are good books. Step Up is a good book because it gives you the important topics by systems. Basically, its a good overlook. I highly reccommend that you read this book first. As for a medicine reference, I personally liked Cecil's Essentials of Medicine.
4. For psychiatry, I reccommend High Yield Behavioral Sciences. Quick read and it will help you prepare for the boards (if you take the USMLE, this will be handy!!!!)
5. Finally, when you go through the systems, just don't memorize the symptoms and facts. UNDERSTAND WHY THINGS HAPPEN!! Always asks "Why?" This will help you in the long run. Especially when boards come around.
