Okay, this is kind of a weird question, but I just have to ask.

Do medical schools send mail advertising themselves to people who have taken the MCAT? I just remember after taking the SAT and ACT I got a ton of brochures from undergraduate institutions, and I want to know if medical schools do the same thing. And if they do, how long after the MCAT does it take for mail to start coming?

Thanks!

Yes,

I just received a letter from Harvard Med because I'm URM and took the MCAT. If you answered yes to place yourself on the MCAT minority registry (Med-MAR), they will send you mail. I take it with a large grain of salt, because my stats are nowhere near Harvard's avg. It's something to laugh about.

Emails, but not a ton. It's a sellers market, so they typically don't bother.

And 1-2 months in my experience

I hear from military-related medical training programs all the time despite never showing any interest in serving. Some others do too. It is hard to determine any pattern for who gets what emails.

Most of the mail I got was military. I also got a few, but I wouldn't put any stock into them. One even said to apply to the MD/PhD program and I was no where near the stats for that!
