I’m interested in hearing what you guys think a good major and minor would be. I know that you don’t need a specific one for med school and a science based is best. I’m looking more towards a biology degree.

My end goal is neonatal as of now.

Major in anything you want and love. You want to be successful. I’ve known math majors, art majors, music majors , English and history majors etc. who have been successful.

Choose something you like, science based majors just make getting all the pre-reqs easier. I was a science major, In hindsight I wish I did business pre-med or entrepreneurship

I echo the other comments in how you should choose a major that you are genuinely interested in, however, choose one that offers a good backup plan in too. I would also stay away from majors that are kinda advertised to be basically a pre-medical major, things like biomedical sciences. It's just my opinion of course, but those majors seem like a big money grab from universities to me with little future for it's graduates if they do not make it into medical school. I went to school for Biomedical Engineering and contrary to popular beilef I found it to be a very good major for a pre-med, then again I'm interested in engineering. The adcoms won't look at majors per say but the things you do for your major do make good talking points during interviews for sure. Good luck with your search!
