Why would you treat a malignant effusion with XRT? If symptomatic, it needs to be tapped.

Dont know that I will. He keeps reaccumulating. Tap feels better, then gets worse. Time between these is shortening. He is going to present to tumor board tomorrow by a colleague, I just wanted to be ready if they turn to me as ask about RT. Ive seen it published with about 50% success for non Lymphoma type malignancies (my guy is NSCLC). Just havent seen a dose published.

Maybe surgeon can do something like pleurodesis?

Pericardial window. You'd probably need 50+ Gy to the entire pericardium to control the disease, and then you'll give them pericarditis on top of their effusion
