Smh at most people on this thing. To get into pharmacy school, all you have to do is post a decent gpa in 2 years of courses. The hardest course you will take is organic chemistry, and that ain't nothing. Can't handle that, how do you expect to handle courses such as biochemistry, immunology, medicinal chemistry, and many many more? You don't even need a degree to get into most pharmacy schools, and there lies the problem. You're jumping from a fairly easy sophomore year (orgo, and physics?) to really hard courses. You're not prepared. If you're not going to pursue a B.S. degree in the sciences, which will indeed best prepare you for the curriculum you will face as a pharmacy student, then to best prepare yourself you need to study all day everyday. Even if you "get it." get ready to give your life up. This stuff ain't easy. If it were, anyone would do it. And anything that is easy, just plain and simple is not worth doing.

Not really sure what you're trying to get out of this thread.

Dang that is some serious inspirational and motivational speaking there. I mean at first I was like eh, then I was like HELL YEA, LETS DO THIS!!!

Seriously though, your a pre-med student...Thus I am sure you are here just to troll some posts.

I don't recall seeing anyone whining about the level of difficulty of pharmacy school recently...? 😕

The truth actually. People try to sugar coat pharmacy school. There is a reason why people leave undergrad getting A's and go to pharmacy school and barely grace a 2.0. And I was actually pre-pharm but have changed routes. I work in a pharmacy and I can say pharmacists use nothing they learn in school. I mean come on bust your butt taking classes that you will never use. The pharmacists spend more time on te phone with ins companies then anything else. Half the time they don't even know interactions-the computer system red flags an interaction. I don't need any training for that at all. No one does. You can train a monkey to catch a big red screen that says interaction. Why am I gonna bust my butt off to not use the fundamentals of science?

nah not a troll...poor guy probably just rang up bitchy customers all day in a retail pharmacy and helped people find the potato chips as a clerk.

Pharmacist is a safety net. You have no idea how many times I seen my pharmacist catch a mistake on the prescription paper. Would you trust your life on a tech who knows nothing about drug interactions or a pharmacists? I think you should seek out other pharmacy settings before you generalize a statement.
