Hi guys, sorry for all the posts recently. I was wondering if any of you recommend a minor in management. Some of my friends said it would help if I go into private practice. I have the opportunity to graduate 2 quarters early, or I can use those 2 quarters to take a total of 6 upper div management courses.

A minor itself isn't necessary, but taking courses in management will definitely help you in the long run when you open your practice. If you've got the time to do it, I'd say it's definitely worth it.

IMO, there is no relationship from learning bussiness from accademic point of view to the real world of private practice.

Just like you can't learn swimming from reading a book

This is pretty much true. Especially with management. It's generic. You'll walk away with some buzzwords that you can get from any $19.99 book in the business section at your local bookstore. Unless you're doing something specific like accounting, economics, supply chain, etc. where you might take something a tiny bit useful away, I wouldn't mess with the whole minor thing. Unless you think it sounds cool.
