These are from Kaplan and I don't have the answer key so I just want to know if any of u know the ansers for these.

Which of the following does not occur in the stomach
A.Mechanical breakdown of food
B.Digestion of proteins
C.Secretion of acidic juice

*I know that mechanical breakdown of food occur in stomach. Digestion of protein happens due to pepsin. It secretes gastric juice and I don’t know if it’s same as acidic juice. I don’t know where carbohydrates are digested.

A.Cambium-You already posted a question on this one. Cambrium=meristem
B.Xylem-goes up
C.Pyhloem-brings down
D.Root hair
E.Mesemchyme-You could be tempted to answer this one, thinking meristem, but this is embryonic connective tissue. Not even present in plants.

A.Divergent evolution-think of diverged=split. Like a "v" where there is a common ancestor and then two species will evolve independently. Homologous structures.
B.Convergent evolutionanalogous structures - look at your bio text for this stuff. Place where Kaplan is weak.

E.Genetic drift-KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GENETIC DRIFT AND FLOW

Just my $.02. Definately find a source other than kaplan for genetics and evolution. The rest should be in there.

and yes you should know which hormones are steroidal and which are proteins.

by the way Kim, you just asked about Cambium and Digestion in posts this last week....I remember answering in those threads. Need to let that stuff sink in cause you just asked those same question here.
