Hello,
I am exploring psychology career options. I was accepted to a PsyD program outside of Boston, MA - but is incredibly expensive and may cost 400K. I am also considering MSW options.
My ultimate goal is to have a private practice. I have heard many LCSW mention they make similar amounts to doctorates in private practice or charge similar amounts per hour, but have also heard the insurance reimbursement rates differ for LCSW and doctorate level therapists/psychologists. I have also heard that master level clinicians wish they had more clinical training that a PsyD provides. I would like to hear from LCSW or master level clinicians on their experience in private practice and salary. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
