Because controversy is good for website traffic, page views, advertising revenues. He's a pathological, but very useful, douchebag.

You were probably reported and warned for this too. Good job dave man.

Not entirely accurate. I know of a few matches that are missing and the military ortho were at the same program, not different ones.

Is cleveland clinic foundation avon the main cleveland clinic?

Pennsylvania hosptial. It's just part of PCOM's OPTI.

Wow 2 rad/onc matches this year, 1 at RVU and 1 at Erie. Either radonc is getting less competitive or DOs are doing pretty well.

or just those 2 students were superstars, with connects, etc

Just FYI the LECOM match list pdf that was posted is for all three campuses combined (Erie, Bradenton, and Seton Hill)

Thanks for clearing that up. On second look I see it says "All Campuses" on top. I thought there was something strange about that list, with 7 path matches in a single class

No. Cleveland Clinic has a ton of satellite locations throughout northeastern Ohio. There are two such locations in Avon, Ohio. Not sure which one this individual matched at, but it is not the "main" Cleveland Clinic Foundation hospital which is in Cleveland.

But I don't think CC has multiple IM residencies. If you google Cleveland Clinic Internal Medicine Ohio, you'll only get 1 program. Am I wrong?

edit: i googled cleveland clinic avon ohio, it isn't really a hospital, its a specialized health center that has an emergency department and ambulatory surgery with some primary care stuff.

As I said in a prior post, this match list is not entirely accurate. There are quite a few errors and omissions. That CCF match is at the main campus. I know the person who matched there.

With rad-onc, people are having trouble finding jobs when they graduate. It has become less competitive, albeit still more competitive than say, IM.

On similar note, someone from our class at NSUCOM matched at CCF main IM. Pretty good match.

IM at CCF is not an MGH, UCSF or even mayo type match; most would consider it a run-of-the-mill mid-tier IM program (like Maryland, although most rank maryland higher than CCF). Don't get me wrong, it's not a crappy community program but it is also not on the same level as CCF fellowships. This is because CCF was created differently than most hospitals. Most hospitals had an IM department and specialties grew off of that. At CCF, the hospital was only a specialty hospital and IM came as an after thought. Thus, the hospital is very fellow run and so the IM program suffers.

I see what you're saying, we also had a person match at Mayo IM at Rochester MN

That is a strong match. Mayo is also fellow run which is why it suffers compared to the huge guns (UCSF, MGH, BW, Penn, Hopkins, Duke, Columbia) but it is still an exceptional program. That guy should be pretty happy.

The only downside is that they wear suits everyday at Mayo.

I feel like that's a bs statement that gets propagated over and over. It really didn't seem that way when I interviewed.

Can a current student post Touro COM NYs match list? Not sure if the one I have is complete/ correct.

Thanks!

11 psychiatry matches at Touro-NV plus a child psych/Neuro match too. A lot less surgery matches than last year too. It's funny how different each class is.

hey sdn, im a thread necromancer just wondering if you think pathology or radiology would be good fields for me

There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord : and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

Probably saw the post from the dude at the top of this page and thought it was this year's thread.

But alas, it's been a regular SDN Osteopathic match list tradition since at least 2013.

WHO CARES how old the thread is. the guy asked a valid question.

Just to keep it in task with the other thread from this year:

All these matches suck.

DOs have crappy training.

DOs are awesome. Just as good as MD.

Did you see that neuro-cardiac-ortho surgery match in outer space?

That's because outer space is cold and all the best ortho surgeons lift. Can't get your lift on without gravity so of course some DO snagged it.

MDs are great!

If you're a DO and happy, you're doing it wrong!
