quick question, rank list are due today, and still debating b/t Mayo and Milwaukee, Mayo has a great name and great training, Milwaukee, better city, great training, more fellowship opportunities... any thoughts?

Decision and your happiness come down to--where does your S.O.. want to go? Where did you hit it off with those you met (though this can be deceiving). How close are family and friends to these locations? These factors matter once you are there two are three years and the new car smell wears off.

UWM is not Milwaukee - that's Madison - 2 separate programs.

I went to MCW in the 90's, but most of my attendings are still there. PM me if you need more info/insight

I suppose moot at this point.

Yes, yes, I know the difference b/t these two programs and wrote UWM instead of MCW by mistake. I usally just call Madison- well madison and for some reason was thinking UW-Milwak. I'm sure I was insenstive by suggesting MCW is not an elite program.🙄 I think my point is that there is no problem picking a middle or low tier program (have no idea which tier MCW would fall into), b/c a motivated smart person can get a great education just about anywhere. I would assert that having clear reasons for deciding b/t a top and not-top tier program is a good idea and I did not think that the fellowship comparsion was valid b/t the two programs and would not be a great reason to rec MCW over Mayo.

Having family in WI, or your wife/s.o. being a big Brewers fan might be good reasons
