Hi all,
I absolutely despise math. I noticed one in-state med school I was looking to apply to had zero math requirements. I'm wondering how common this is? If there's a good number of schools without math requirements, I'd rather just not take any in college! Right now I've only take social sciences, humanities, and science courses, and I want to keep it that way 😀

Thanks everyone

i havnet seen any schools without math requirements
so if you are planning to apply to more than that one school i would suggest you take some math

plus even for that school
it would make you look more well-rounded...
most of the other students will probably have some calc in their course list

If you are applying widely(and everyone does) you will need to take calc and possibly stats. A good number of schools require at least 1-2 semesters of calc. Id just suck it up and take it, its just something we all had to

Basically same thing as the previous two posters. Most med schools require at least two semesters of Calculus.. Also, it just looks good if you at least took some math.

Aww... why does everyone have to hate on Math so much??

But yeah, it's pretty much required at every school. It's really not so bad, I promise.

Yeah, just take it and go to tutoring while you're at it and it will all be just a bad memory.

I kinda hate math too. I've taken pre-calc and statistics, plus an upper division stats course. I could stop here, I don't have to take calc, but if I choose not to I will limit the schools I can apply to, because a lot of them want calc I. I haven't come across many schools that want calc I, AND calc II...so it's not that bad. I'm only going to take calc I if anything

Will Calc II really steal your soul away? Think about it, its just one course and I am sure you are smart enough to pull off at least a B in it and get it over with. Think of it this way, at least in the future when you come to apply, you can say that you did your best to not limit yourself in anyway possible and you will be so happy you did that. Those ass bites from the past really do sting.

good luck either way.
