I'm accepted into Rowan and already paid the deposit. I'm on high priority list on RWJMS (MD). My main priority is RWJMS. I'm not sure the exact date or roughly that I can get off from my spot at Rowan and hypothetically accept a position at RWJMS. For example if it's May 1st, what would happen if RWJMS offers me the position on may 10th? Am I bound to rowan? Is their a certain etiquette of denying a DO school for an MD school (or even vice versa as I prefer Rowan too Cooper possibly). I'm intersted in preparing my letter of intent but all these dates confuse me.
thanks

MD and DO are seaparated completely. By May 1st when you commit to one DO school you cannot commit to any other DO school only.

So if I get into my choice MD before then how do I even say I'm rescinding my seat. I hope rwjms responds before then

You can rescind your seat at any time. The only rule is that if you commit to Rowan as your DO school after May 1st, and afterwards you rescind your seat, you CANNOT ask for/accept your seat at another DO school (nor would the schools even allow you to).

Just do it like Albino said. They're not going to come tracking you down and asking why. The only time they'll ask why is it you re-apply the next year after already being offered an acceptance before.

Loll this is why they have a waitlist to begin with. If everyone attended the schools they committed to then a waitlist would not exist.

You call them and say this exactly. Then you thank them for their consideration and say goodbye. You can rescind your seat all the way up until classes start if the MD school takes that long to come through.
