Maui anesthesiologist was arrested on Oahu for allegedly trying to murder his wife by pushing her off a trail. He came well after I left.

She will be fine. One of those fake critical conditions admission we all know are kind soft. Another news media sensationalist article.

And I’m not downplaying the seriousness of the charges. Just downplaying the seriousness of the “critical condition”

Bro…lol wtf? Was that really necessary? Like I get that she will probably end up physically fine, but her husband TRIED TO MURDER HER! And that’s your response?

I’m just commenting that some icu admissions are more precautionary. Observations.

maybe his pre anestheisa planning was better?

All joking aside this is terrible what a psycho

Headline also says “Top doctor”. Likely another exaggeration.
Yeah, and they point out a $1.5M house. Which isn't that much on Maui, so i doubtit's anything special. The median price in December 2024 was 1.3M. The house my parents bought in the 90s for 650k is well over 2M now, but they sold it a while ago.

Jesus Christ there is something seriously wrong with your brain.

Yah guys I’m critical care and this is such a BS admission. So she got some bread and butter TBI and IM injections of substances from someone who has access to the deadliest drugs on earth, so what? I would’ve totally refused this and transferred her down to the floors where every RN Is covering 10 other patients. But I bet she was being a huge diva about it and demanded an icu bed. Typical. This is why healthcare costs are out of control guys. Thank god DOGE is gonna fix this mess

On the opposite end of the spectrum. I had two patient get shot. The news said they were in stable condition with non-life threatening conditions. One arrived to the ED coding and needed MTP but survived after being in the ICU for weeks. The other ended up dead.

You can never trust the news. Especially in the era of HIPAA.

I remember during COVID when everything first shut down and all the sports channels were showing old games. I was watching an MLB game pre-HIPAA. A player was injured and the commentators gave an update. They said the hospital spokesman told them the exact diagnosis and expected recovery times.

I couldn’t get out of ICU fast enough. Impossible to sleep in there. Doubt she is knowledgeable enough to demand an ICU bed.

As I have long claimed, I believe our beloved friend @aneftp is an LLM that needs an upgrade. Probably needs an empathy chip implanted as well. One day perhaps.

Da hell is an LLM!?
Large language model. I have a working theory that @aneftp, based on various linguistic quirks synergized with a distinct lack of basic decency, is in fact an advanced LLM with a few components missing. I have every hope that the @aneftp model can be updated to provide a much more robust simulacrum of an actual, caring human being. It’s the only hope I have.

There's been resolution to this case. Throughout, he's been called a "renowned anesthesiologist" I guess he is, in a bad way.

Maui anesthesiologist was arrested on Oahu for allegedly trying to murder his wife by pushing her off a trail. He came well after I left.

Some crazy stuff. The wife had “emotional” affair with coworker. Jealousy turned into rage. He had son from previous relationship. So we don’t know how that previous relationship ended whether cheating was involved in his relationship back at that time. There is always something underlying.

These women get bored around ages 35-40 with their marriages it seems. Shouldn’t be axed off the cliff. But two younger women anesthesiologists i know left their spouses due to emotional affairs than turned into physical affairs and then divorce. And im in the same birthday party for one of them. The most awkward feeling like ever. I’m like something is going on here. These are people I hang out with. Since I’m a pretty social person around town. The other husband shot and killed himself father days weekend due to the wife having an affair (multiple affairs with burners phones and on tinder all the time). Just horrible.

I’m just trying to let people know people’s state of mind when their partners cheat and the juror brought that excuse. It’s a win for the defense.

Now back to the trial/conviction. It’s obvious the jury felt sympathy for the guy. They didn’t convict him with purposely intending to do it. That automatically life in prison. They agreed he was distraught due to the wife affair.

But he’s pretty much cooked for the next 5 years or however long the Hawaii parole system is. I doubt he gets the max 20 years. Maybe he’s out in 5-6 years for good behavior. It p diddy can rebuild. The anesthesiologist should be able to rebuild.

Wonder why he tried to run away on foot like you're on an island where do you think youre going
Because he’s in distress. Not thinking straight. Wanted to himself.

No one is gonna to defend his actions. And he should serve time

There are people who respond to stress differently. Like the guy I mention above who killed himself when woman anesthesiologist was cheating on him.

I guess that was har he should have done. Kill himself rather than inflict harm to his cheating spouse.
