Maximum voltage equation

I was doing a kaplan practice physics test and I got one of the questions because I did not know the maximum voltage equation ( V=Vmax*sin(theta)*Time). I never heard of this equation and it did not come up in my Princeton Review reading. U guys know if we need it?

its used to answer questions about voltage at any given time. Never heard of it

That equation makes no sense... Multiplying Vmax by sin(theta) and time, to me, seems like a meaningless quantity.

That is what I thought. I got the answer wrong and was confused when the equation was written in the answers as if it was something we were suppose to know. I never saw it in the princeton books. Just making sure its not mandatory that I know it

Wait, was this a variable source of voltage? I think that Vmaxsin(theta)t is used for AC currents/variable voltage sources.
