Maximum voltage equation

I was doing a kaplan practice physics test and I got one of the questions because I did not know the maximum voltage equation ( V=Vmax*sin(theta)*Time). I never heard of this equation and it did not come up in my Princeton Review reading. U guys know if we need it?
 
That is what I thought. I got the answer wrong and was confused when the equation was written in the answers as if it was something we were suppose to know. I never saw it in the princeton books. Just making sure its not mandatory that I know it
