Do medical schools have to give students an answer by May 15th? I had a few late April interviews, and I was wondering if I would have a definite yes,no,waitlist answer by the 15th. Thanks

I do not belive so. I have never heard this. May 15 only represents the day that those individuals holding multiple acceptances must chose one and drop there other seats, thus opening up waiting/alternate lists.

Schools have been know to grant last-minute acceptances during the first week of classes, especially when someone drops out.

If you have an interview coming up, then you still have a chance. If you are being waitlisted, you still have a chance too. However, prudence demands that you make considerations for next year just in case. It sucks getting another AMCAS but if that's what it takes, then that's what it takes. I know how it feels, I've done AMCAS 3x.
