relax berken bird....ALmost everyone is gonna get rejected from alteast one school, and Mayo is a school that gets some kind of creepy pleasure out of rejecting ppl with high stats.

i never realized that decisions would come so soon! i thought we could sit around for another month before **** actually happens. guess i was wrong there.

Oh great, it's starting already? And of course today is the day when I have a 12-hour research day with a patient so I won't be near the computer at all. I can check on my phone, but I'd feel bad for the poor patient when I get my rejection letter- I'd be doing his EKG and all of a sudden rip out his chest hair in anger. Poor guy.

By the way, who else hates ALL other sources of email? I find myself cursing at the screen when I get an email from facebook, or victoria's secret, or iTunes...STOP SENDING ME JUNK MAIL! DO YOU NOT KNOW HOW NERVOUS I GET WHEN I SEE THAT LITTLE (1) NEXT TO MY GMAIL LINK???!!!

feel your pain. I'm working 11 hours today and my company conveniently blocks sites for other e-mails. and my phone doesn't get e-mail.🙁

ahh I get so excited by that (1) too. glad I'm not the only one who gets let down by those junk e-mails.


so has anyone gotten good news from mayo? when I get home and see mayo in my inbox, I don't want all hope to be gone.

When did you send in your $85 LET? It looks like most of these people sent their $$ in and about a week later got the ax. I only sent mine in Monday, so I guess I have a few more days until my letter comes!

No emails from mayo here... it seems like they aren't sending them all at once which makes me nervous. Every time I get an email I freak out...

This is going to be a loooong year!

That would be great! But, seriously, don't think about it! Because if a rejection comes, you'll be even more disappointed.

No, but I think my school just automatically sends my premed committee letter packet to every school that I apply to. So, I'm sure that Mayo has my LORs too.

I haven't had biochem either but I was under the impression that you could still get accepted without it on your transcript but you just have to have it done by matriculation time. Is that right even if you don't have it listed on "future courses" on AMCAS?

The underlined is correct. If you progress to the interview invite, someone in the admissions office will ask you about your timing in taking the class...so no, you do not have to have taken the class before applying...just before matriculating...

I rather suspect the greater difficulty with "spat upon" is that pretty much no one is going to honestly list it as the "result" of their Mayo app! 😀

Got the rejection (or, as Mayo nicely puts it, "not selected") email Wednesday at 2:35 am. It was actually a very nicely worded and positive rejection notice. I never expected to get in, but it was worth a shot. At least it wasn't my first rejection (that honor would go to Indiana University).
