I was accepted to an MPH program last spring but decided to defer for a year (until Sept 10) because I simply needed more time to figure things out. I am telling you this upfront so you understand that an MPH was my first choice initially, and then I started to broaden my scope of interests.
Now that I have had extra time to reevaluate, I am beginning to think that a dual MBA/MPH will be the optimal degree for me specifically to blend that practicality of business with humanitarian aspect that is associated with public health. I currently work in R&D in the pharmaceutical industry, and am interested in continuing to work within pharmaceuticals, or perhaps working at a consultancy / think tank within health care eventually.
My question to the group: Is anyone else currently pursuing an MBA/MPH or have information to offer? If so, what is your opinion of the degree (coursework, job prospects, etc.)? Really, Im just looking for some feedback or someone to discuss MBA/MPH opportunities.
