Hi Everyone,
I've looked to see if I can find the answer to my question in old threads but I can't find it. If there's a link to one, just post that and ignore my question. 🙂 I'm starting my senior year of college, but because I started my pre-med classes only this past year it's going to take me a little longer to finish the science classes most D.O. schools require. If all goes as planned, I will have just finished organic 2 and graduate in December of 2008. If I took the MCAT in January of 2009, how long would it take to get back the scores, and when would I begin to apply to D.O. schools? Is there any chance of starting school in 2009, or would 2010 be more realistic? I know these questions probably seem silly, but I just transferred schools and I haven't met with a pre-med advisor there yet...I need to start planning for these things. I'd appreciate any input and advice, Thanks.🙂

If you take the MCAT in January '09, then it is waaay more realistic to enter medical school in '10 than later that year. It usually takes approximately one month to get your MCAT score back, but the schools work on a rolling admissions, so it would be more difficult to be accepted with a Jan. MCAT (not impossible though). Good luck.

if you take 09 Jan MCAT then you get scores by Feb apply by June. Rolling admissions don't start till later August. At leasts thats how it is for MD school.
