Once you are selected for an interview, does that mean you have what it takes "number wise" to be admitted there. How much weight does the committee put on MCAT & GPA post-interview?

it depends on the school. i interviewed at three schools last year and was not accepted to any of them (all waitlists). i was able to speak with the admissions deans at two of the schools and both told me that my interview was one of the strongest aspects of my application. in the end, however, that still wasn't good enough. i knew my grades weren't very competitive though. so, the whole spiel of 'once you're at the interview, you're on equal ground with everyone else' may be true at some schools but it doesn't seem that way at others. best of luck.

Yup. Same here. Got an interview last year and rejected in May. I called the Dean and she told me that my interview was great. It was my MCAT scores that fcuked me over.

What school was this?

yeah I think it varies considerably from school to school. You would think that if they invited you for an interview you would be on a level playing field with everyone else. What I think is more likely is that when your application is presented to the admission commitee the interview is used as just another piece of the pie. The lower your stats the better your interview needs to be in my opinion.
