Ok so i have a bit of a problem. I registered for my MCAT and did not realize they required me to use both of my last names. In my ID i have two but only one on the test. It is past the deadline to change names and i was wondering how strict they were going to be about that. According to what i've read on the site i'm pretty much boned. Also, how can i cancel my test if it is past the cancellation deadline so that i can sign up for the next available date.

If you're past the "bronze" deadline, pretty sure you can't cancel. You'd have to show up and void the test. Call up AAMC on Monday and see what they say. And next time be sure to read the directions.

One of my classmates was prevented from taking Step 1 because his ID had both last names, but he was registered in school under only one and thus registered for the test with one.

Call them on Monday and explain the situation. It's better than showing up to the testing center and being told to go home. And make sure your name on your ID matches the name you register with in the future.
