I didn't take Physics. Instead, during the year I took notes on the AAMC physics benchmarks using a textbook. I'm using TBR to learn and review material but it's overwhelming to initially use given my weak physics background. Can anyone recommend a resource to use before working with TBR that will best simplify the concepts?

Try Wikipremed, Khan Academy, and the NOVA Physics MCAT book to build a solid foundation.

The best source would be to take the -pre-reqs... MCAT resources are meant for reviewing things you have already learned. TBR is the most comprehensive, but even then its not as good as learning it well the first time in a pre-req class.

NOVA Physics. I'am using it now and it teaches you like you're learning it for the first time. I bounce back between TBR and NOVA, and I've been scoring very well. I've also been supplementing Wiki-premed (their flashcards are gold) and Chads video.

TBR doesn't really teach the material. Imo, They will leave out some concepts and not go into great depth of why. So I recommend taking an actual physics course. You shouldn't have to rush to take the MCAT, pre-reqs are important too.

I had to pick my poison. Given that I am strong in other MCAT areas and given my learning tendencies, it was silly to take a delay the MCAT to take a physics course and give up an entire summer to study, having tons of prep materials for a familiar test at a my fingertips and getting an early score just to learn basic physics, which is something that can be self-taught. It's doable, but TBR is tough to do it with, which is why I'm asking for a resource that dumbs it down for a first go. It looks like NOVA is the general consensus so I'm going to check it out! Thanks!
