I posted something like this in the MCAT forum, and have had...well, not much luck (thanks to those who posted though). What was the score you got when you FIRST took a practice exam. How much did it increase when you took the real deal? What were your methods of increasing your score? Course? Self study? How many hours/week?

My initial scores: 8 B, 8 V, 5 P...we'll see what happens cuz I'm starting a course June 14th.

i'd say those are fine scores to start with, i think mine were like a 11v, 7ps, 7bs. by the end of my course (EK) i was getting 34's on all the aamc tests. i haven't gotten back my scores yet, so i can't tell you exactly how i did though. anyway, i think you're probably right in line with where pple expect to be when they start except for that 5 which kinda sucks. get yourself EK 1001 Physics and 1001 chemistry, that should whip you into shape. gluck.

First practice,
V7 P7 B8

Real deal
V10 P10 B11

Took kaplan, didn't go to their classes, took lots of practice tests. I studied ALOT. Felt prepared for the actual exam.

first practice V7 P6 B8

real exam V13 P13 B11

took the princeton review...most helpful part was repeatedly sitting for the practice exams....it gets you used to timing and how questions are worded...and how not to panic if you have NO idea what a passage is saying....

mine went up 14 points fromt he frits practice to the last practice . however it only went up 10 from the first practice to the real deal.

first practice 12V 8P 8B (28)
last practice I forget the breakdown but it was a 36 (and an AAMC test from the previous year)

real thing 12V 12P 13B

Hey guys, thanks for the posts...you guys have awesome scores! How many hours/day or per week did you guys have to put in for those kinds of numbers?

Congrats by the way on the great scores and acceptances if you hold any...
